Yesterday I decided I was going to start the South Beach Diet. My boss is currently on it and showed me the information for it. I like it because I can eat all these low fat cheeses. Since my husband hates me having cheese I rubbed it in his face that I am allowed to have it and I will be having it. So far it is ok, I am satisfied when I eat and I am so far not missing the bread, but I know I will be missing the rice. I really want to look nice for not only my husband, but for myself. I have gotten to the point where I don't even want to look at myself in a mirror. I am sick of being so fat and I really need to do something about it.

I understand. Its come to the point where looking in the mirror is very hard for me to do. I don't see anything pretty in me anymore. A friend of mine is doing the south beach, and she loves it. The first 3 days she said were the hardest, but it gets easier. I use slimfast. :) (like chocolate!! LOL) Good luck! I know you can do it!!!

YOU CAN TOTALLY DUE THIS! I JUST STARTED THIS WEEK TOO AND ONCE YOU PUT YOUR MIND TO EATING WHAT YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO AND EXERCISING, NOTHING AND NO ONE CAN DERAIL YOU. KEEP YOUR THOUGHTS POSITIVE! YOU CAN AND WILL DO IT!

Make up your mind that you *will* lose weight and that nothing will get in you way. SBD is very adaptable but it's best to stick to Phase 1 to the letter. That's only 2 weeks (some stay longer) but it plays a very important role in modifying your eating patterns. I'm sure you will appreciate the flexibility and common sense behind SBD. Good luck!

I totally support what you're doing. I too feel like the mirror is my worst enemy - maybe we can get through this with help from each other and the rest of the community. Congrats on the wedding. If you don't want to but the books (I have all of them and have tried lots of recipes) see if you can get it from the library. The first couple of days (each time I start phase 1) are hard, but it can be done, and the results are awesome, IF you stick with it. You GO girl!
