366to266's Journal, 22 February 2013

Following the n=1 experiment by my friend Jimmy Moore, who has lost 50lb in 5 months on a ketogenic diet, I'm going to increase my fat intake and get into ketosis. Change my fat/protein/carb ratio so that I am eating 80% of my calories in the form of fat (Jimmy is doing 85%). This means eating more meals, but smaller. Each one about 200 to 300 calories, six to eight a day. To keep the fat content at around 80%, I will eat such things as the fattiest meats, the fattiest cream cheese, the fattiest bacon, the fattiest pate, and my eggs will henceforth be served only with mayonnaise. My only carbs with be double cream, cream cheese, lettuce, capsicum, cucumber and cabbage. I have just made a fresh batch of cabbage soup but will eat smaller portions than previously -- a quarter pint, diluted with water, and served with double cream. I might even blend some olive oil into the soup, just to make it fattier!

Today's soup was utterly LUSH! Cabbage, tomatoes, onions, yellow peppers and green beans.

Today I am making a batch of egg mayonnaise. I will use 12 eggs and once its made into egg mayo, I will divide this into 12 portions. Each portion will be a mini-meal. It's gonna be a bugger to calculate the fat and calories!

Sounds interesting. You'll have to keep everyone posted on how it goes, I've never heard of that. To me it sounds strange to eat more fat. Just be careful that eating some of those fats isn't going to give you any health problems. Good luck!!

That should for sure kick you into ketosis. Have you ever read Protein Power? It is very similar to Atkins, but has a little different take. You sound like you have a strong plan! Keep it up! I need a good recipe for cabbage soup:-)
