Bombay Red's Journal, 16 October 2012

It occurred to me that, in the past, low calorie had always worked for me. But I had read SOOO much about high protein, low carb, healthy carb, portion control, that I had too much information in my brain. These all worked, but for me and my body, low calorie/good carb/small frequent meals has been the best fit for my life. Its good to try something new, you never know if its going to work until you try it. But the dark side to this, and this is what I have had to face, is the feeling of failure each time you try something and it doesn't work for you. And those failed attempts compound and you are left feeling like you are the one and only hopeless case.
My diet at the moment consists of fresh fruit like grapefruit and apples, almonds, almond butter, oats, fresh spinach, broccoli, avocado, sprouts, chicken breast, tomato, bread and potatoes. All portions are controlled and that is how it has to be for me. In my office, I don't have the chance to be up and moving all day, I take the stairs daily, but that is not enough. In the end its the same simple solution, you have to look at your calorie input vs. calorie output. It can only be this way. I have heard it a million times and its true, you must every few hours, but it has to be healthy choices that will promote your weight loss goals. This is working, and I feel healthy and excited to meet my goal.
