Can someone please explain IF to me? I know keto, and banting and the heart foundation diet (which i prefer). But I’ve noticed a few people commenting that they are doing IF... please help. What does it entail?

Hi, I am not really on IF but I see no one has responded to you so I will try to explain. IF stands for intermittent fasting and this simply means that you follow your own fasting pattern. You will have a window period for eating and a period in which you can’t eat anything at all. For example, if you are doing a 6:18 IF it means you will have a 6 hours window period of eating and an 18 hour period of no eating. The eating period can start at any time, you could say your 6 hour ration period is from 12 midday until 6 pm, there after you don’t eat until 13 midday the next day. Hope it makes sense

IF is as crazyten has explained. There are different methods to it. You can also down apps on android or iOS to kickstart. I am currently using an app and it does wonders for me. I have lost both cm and over 4kg in a month. Good luck if you decide on starting IF

Hi I have done IF before and have started again. You get 2 types the 16:8 and the 5:2. 16:8 is where you eat in an 8 hour window and fast for 16 hours so most people eat lunch and supper only. 5:2 is where for 5 days of the week you eat normally and 2 days a week where you will consume 500 calories (woman) and 600 calories (men). I have found that the 5:2 was very effective for me. I would use Tuesdays and Thursdays as my fast days and the rest of the days I would eat normally but healthy foods
