I consciously made a poor food choice for supper last night. Szechuan style chicken and eggplant with basil with rice. It was tasty, but the sauce was sweet and rich. If I analyze why I did this, it wasn't because I was hungry for Chinese food. I was having anxiety about lack of control in my work and home environments. It was to escape my house, sit somewhere else, and feel gratified by food. Well, that worked for the duration, but once I was back home, depression set in. I fell asleep by 9pm and didn't get up until 6:30a, which is too much sleep for me. I don't really feel refreshed, just depressed and fatigued. I know I had vivid dreams, but I can't remember them.

Tonight, more food-centric activity. We're going out on a gift card to the restaurant that just won the Beard award for best in the US. We had the reservation before they won, so I bet it will be packed. We'll eat light until then.

Took mom to the ortho doc yesterday. He said she has severe arthritis and he gave her cortisone shots in the shoulder and knee. I sure hope it helps her. She's been hobbling so badly.
