BMax666's Journal, 23 April 2024

I had my longest bike ride in a long time yesterday, over 24 miles.
So 2 teenage boys in a silver sedan drove past me and called me the N-word. I don't know why they used that word, I'm pretty pale.
They came back a second time and called me the same slur. I told them to pull over and fight me.
They circled around, passed me a third time, and threw a snack cake at me while calling me the N-word again. Then they turned right onto a suburban side street.
I chased them. Less than a block down the street, they were pulling into a driveway to turn around and come at me from behind again. I sprinted towards them. They threw the car in reverse and turned the corner.
I took the left turn and found myself coming straight at them again!
Again, they put their car in reverse and ran from me.
I guess I gave them a scare, because they stopped playing with me.

I have so many mixed feelings right now about this. One hand I'm glad you taught them a lesson😈 on another I'm just glad you're safe and you should be very careful. People are stupid young or not they could have a gun 🙀 and do stupid things...🤷 But I'm so impressed that is a ton of mileage good for you! Kudos!!!

I admire your bravery, but that was really risky and dangerous. What if they got out of the car? You beat them up, cops are called, you're going to jail. Or, they pull out a weapon, and it becomes another tragic story on 6oclock news. It's a lose-lose situation for you. In 2024, most of the teens looking for trouble will have some sort of weapon on them. Those fighting days are long gone. I would just call the cops next time and let them deal with it.

I am so very sorry this happened. The fools are most likely proud of themselves and their idiocy. The world is full of them. And too many of them have guns. Prayers for your protection...and kudos on that long ride!

I’m so sorry this happened! So disrespectful! You would think that our world would be better than this by now. It really saddens me. I’m just glad you are safe!

Awful!! Just awful. My hubby’s black and our kids mixed. This kind of situation is still happening in this sin filled world full of hate and racism. Always will be. You were brave but could have been dangerous. Reconsider what you’ll do next time. I’m glad you’re ok. I’ll never understand racism. Not a thought of it in my head ever. And though people say this same thing, you can tell they think things by the way they look at people different than them. Not only is it about skin color but it surfaces even with religion, politics etc. Bias and prejudice take many forms. Just awful. 😢

My first cousin Katie all three of her boys are mixed because of the ages of her children I've always considered the my nephews versus my second cousins. I'm very attached to all of them I love them dearly they're very sweet young boys and approaching young man. But one of the things that struck me as her eldest and my eldest are the same age approximately was a difference and how we approached police safety and how we deal with them and I don't mean this ugly. It hurtful how careful we had to be and our instruction to protect our young men and how funny we had to be about politeness standards and how you hold your hands when deal with the police if you are in a interaction with them, announcing ones presence, etc... Where as with my daughter we don't have to do that now there is one glaring difference in the appearance of our two children... and I'm sure you can make an assumption what and it hurts my soul that we had to do this for their protection. Because it shouldn't have to be this way but due to all of the violence and the "accidents" that keep happening to the beautiful young men and women of our country we couldn't stand by and not teach my nephews the difference of how they needed to approach the police for their safety. It's these kinds of differences that we have in our country today that make it clear obvious that we still have significant growing to do as a nation regardless of which side of the political Isle you hold.
