It is kind of hard to dial in the maintenance calories. It was suggested to me to slowly increase by 100 cals a month. I tried at first but still lost. When I did the FS calc it gave me 1900 cals which is what it started me out with when I first cut back. Then I dropped cals by 100 every 15-20lb loss until I ate 1400 cals. Just mentioning that because I didn't stay at 1900. Now in maintenance for the past year I often want more than 1900 cals. I tend to eat 2200 some days then cut back to 1900 other days. I'm guessing I average around 2000 to 2100. I gain a couple pounds then lose it again. I think some days your body needs more cals depending on your expenditure so I kind of go by feel too. But when I overeat I just try to be good the next day or two and I really go off my weekly average than daily intake. Good luck to you. I guess luck doesn't really play into it. It's a science and discipline. I know you can do it! Tracking my calories here though has made maintenance possible as in the past I used to think that because I'd met my goal i could eat whatever I wanted. Thats so not true! But I don't know why I had that attitude before. LOL!

I thought the same thing Bearnoggin!🤣 Thankfully I learned here on FS that counting calories would go on after I reached my goal, else I might have yoyo'd right back up there🤦‍♀️ I've sure learned a lot over the course of the year...still learning every day!

Maintaining is in some ways is harder than losing. I have no doubt, though, that with your focus and commitment, you'll do it 👍
