Well, I'm back down to my lowest point after losing .4 pounds yesterday and back on track. My goal is 216 for Monday so I will work hard to get there.

Question? It's about 9pm and you are sitting at home watching TV or something and get an urge to go get a snack. Do you go get one and what do you snack on? Also, do you ever replace a snack for another activity since snacking is probably just a habit?

Have a great day!

At night I chew sugar free gum and have a sugar free hard candy about 5-30 calories depending on the flavor. I keep the gum and candy in my room. After dinner I get the decaffeinated tea ready and take it to my room. I don't go back to the kitchen at night! Good for you on the weight loss!

You can always have just a glass of water. It will fill your tummy up and make you feel full. (though you may need to get up in the middle of the night to go potty)

A glass of water will do it; make me get up a few times! Lol. Thanks for the input.

Fruit? Low fat yogurt? Carrots?

I would just have water at that point. Nothing to eat after dinner has been a huge turning point for me.

Suggestion: keep a small dumbbell beside you (8lb, 10 lb whatever), every ad do a few sets. If you are still thinking about food, get a glass of water or tea ...and do a few sets.

I'm a newbie, but I can relate. I eat the following snacks along with drinking (not sipping) a 16.9oz bottle of water and I feel satisfied. 1. a handful of peanuts, walnuts, pecans, or almonds 2. 1-2 boiled eggs 3. 2 deli turkey slices with one slice of cheese 4. Raw vegetables (broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, snap peas….etc) with 2 T of light dressing These snacks don't give me that heavy feeling when it's time for me to go to bed. And if I stay up a little longer than I'd anticipated, I'll drink water then get into bed. Hope this helps.

I always eat at night. You're supposed to eat every 3 hours to keep your metabolism going. I eat plain Greek yogurt with stevia and berries, plain air-popped popcorn, a spoonful of natural peanut butter, a piece of fruit, or string cheese. I don't eat them all at once, but I pick and choose depending on what I'm in the mood for. I don't deprive myself, because I'll end up binging right before I go to sleep, because I can't fall asleep hungry.

Getnfit2 and ChristyLA have given you terrific advice! I would add cantaloupe, berries, and ounce of cheese to their list. The protein suggestion usually stops the munchies with the quickest satisfaction and the least damage to your eating plan! Carbs--simple ones like bread, chips, etc are usually the worst choice in my opinion

Yogurt made with skim milk mixed with some fruit or apple butter. The dairy helps you sleep.
