Could I possibly be gaining muscle weight from doing zumba so soon?🤔

There's lots of possible reasons...that's why it doesn't need to cause panic 😌 Maybe just think back (or look back at your logged food) to see if there's an explanation and then try to remedy things for today👍

My weight can jump around 2 or 3 pounds from one day to the next. When it does, I'm reasonably certain it doesn't reflect a 10,000 calorie overage or deficit in a single day 😜

@ writing...exactly! But it still can be vexing when it happens....but I'm getting much better about staying calmer😁👍

I keep a spreadsheet with a running 7 day average. So I consider my weight to be the average for the week, not whatever the scale says that particular morning. Works for me

Sounds like a great idea 💡

Maybe you are gaining muscle Crystaljo but muscles burn calories so that's a good thing keep on doing that Zumba my friend.

@writingwyo, I had read, but cannot confirm this to be accurate to my experience, that as little as 400mg in sodium difference in diet per day can cause upwards of 2lbs water fluctuation. so it makes it super hard to track actual body weight even over a weekly average unless your sodium and potassium intake is dead spot on the same everyday.

the biggest one of these for me is the poor sleep. if I don't get at least 6hrs my weight is always up, sometimes like 5lbs

Stored glycogen, sodium levels, sleep, stressing your system, etc can all cause some water retention. Not all of the reasons are bad and neither are fluctuations.

I almost always have issues with stress and poor sleep. Occasionally, but not often I eat more salt than I should, usually when eating prepared foods since I can't control how those are made. I do try to weigh in before eating anything for the day although it doesn't always work out that way.
