Just curious Kay. Metformin is for diabetics. Why are you taking it? Have you been diagnosed recently?

Good question! No, I am not a diabetic. Metformin is fda approved for weight loss and is a good alternative to the stimulants out there, which are typically anorectic drugs that are effective short term through appetite suppression. Metformin is helping my body use as much energy as possible, and to store only a little. I’ve been very strong in my food choices lately because my appetite has genuinely lowered.

Sounds to me like your ED purging is just taking a different form. What if you sat with the consequences of your binging for a while and tried to slowly lose the weight. After all, decisions have consequences. You binge, you gain. Let that be a deterrent the next time that you want to binge. My 2 cents. I know you have many supporters here and I am not against you. But to me you make many rash decisions and over justify. Wishing you the best.

Eggbeater Hey friend
Oh I definitely make rash decisions. I am literally the most impulsive person I know. It comes with the territory. I’m neuro divergent, if you didn’t guess. And a work in progress. I loved your comment, and I find your words full of wisdom. Thank you for your advice, I like it when somebody speaks openly and honest. I have sat many of time with my binges. I am not sure how Metformin is taking something to the extreme of purging, I would have to disagree with you on that one.
