The Myth Of Slow Weight Loss - The common advice to intentionally lose weight slowly has no basis in reason or science. http://triathlon.competitor.com/2011/11/nutrition/the-myth-of-slow-weight-loss_43011 I have been doing a lot of research on the topic of losing weight fast or slow and in my estimation faster is as good and for me it's so much better. Seeing the scale dip .5 pounds a day is so motivating that it keeps me revved up and wanting to stick to my plan.

Way to go gal! Everyone's body, metabolism, etc. is different. If you're young & healthy, & especially if you haven't been overweight for many years, fast weight loss may work for you. Study results on rapid vs. gradual weight loss vary greatly, so it depends on who you believe, or maybe who you want to believe. Therein lies the catch, as we'd all like to lose weight fast & keep it off. Just google "rapid weight loss", then "slow weight loss", & you'll see there are "reputable" sources in both camps. For me, being older & disabled, & after trying dozens of "quick weight loss" gimmicks through the years, I'm convinced that losing slowly is the true "fat secret". After all, I didn't gain all this weight quickly, so I'm surely not going to be able to lose it & keep it off by quick weight loss. It just makes sense to give your body time to adjust to the changes, in your body, your mind, emotions, etc. Sounds like you're doing a fantastic job. Keep it up gal, & Best Wishes to you Deb for your continued success!

I am so proud of you for sticking with it. Even if it's only .2 pounds that you lose, you are still maintaining the healthy lifestyle. Keep up the good work. We can do this.

Very well done! you are right; it is not about losing it fast, but making this a lifestyle. The loss might be slower but the learning is for life!

Exactly! You cannot stress yourself out - because this will negate everything you have accomplished and will accomplish. Slow and steady wins the race. Keep up the good work!

Definitely! Stressing yourself is usually more destructive than constructive :P
