Another weekend bites the dust!! Week 8 begins - am staying close to goal plan - about one pound off.
Saw Jersey Boys yesterday - great show. Daughter had to write 4 page persuasive argument paper last night which involved lots of humphing and banging about... Especially annoying since she had no problem spending all weekend with her friends...
Facing mounds of work on my desk today but hoping to walk to the market today - I walked home from market the other day with a 5 pound bag of potatoes and it really hit home how heavy 5 extra pounds is! Hard to make that connection at first!
Took measurements again and no change now for 2 weeks except maybe a half inch in my thigh.
Still feel good though because my clothes arent so tight anymore.
Have a lot of unfinished work hanging over my head which is affecting my mood and energy level - I am definitely staying focused on diet and points but think I need to redirect my focus this week to taking care of business. I have been so focused on getting exercise and diet taken care of that other things are slipping and now I have a stress issue - can I ever achieve balance?

Yes, we can achieve balance! It's hard when you have kids, but I know that we can do it. You just keep doing well and I think everything will still fall in place! I don't know why, but sometimes when we don't zero in on what we think is important, they seem to fall right in place. The 5lb bag of potatoes idea is a good one and when I go to the grocery this week, I am definitely going to do it!

If you get to a gym sometime go pick up a dumbell that is a similar to your complete weight loss goal. Mines a 70 pounder. Its really hard to even lift it. I love the idea of making the weight feel "real" in this way.

It is understandable when you talk about holding weight that we have taken off. It is so difficult to hold weight and I can't believe that weight was permanently on our bodies!!!
