megan4's Journal, 28 March 2009

Weekends are actually harder for me to exercise - kids have sports and activities and I'm running all day. Last weekend I managed one day but not the other - this weekend my goal is to try to get it in both days!
My 11 year old fell playing football yesterday and hit his lip and front tooth -permanent tooth felt loose - now we play the waiting game to see if it's going to tighten up or not - ugh!
My 17 year old has to get blood work done - faints at needles - daughter running a girl scout sock hop this afternoon, play practice this morning, baseball later..... see what I mean?

I found that I was "waiting" on my three a whole lot. I would take them to a rehearsal or practice and I would have like 45 min before I had to be back to get them. Before I would sit and watch or read. Now I walk. Its great and I really don't need any equipment in the van just make sure I have the right shoes on. I figure there are days that I pick up a good 30 min - 1 hour of moderate walking doing this. Just an idea. I was amazed at how much it added up to.

I know what you mean Megan, my son's second baseball team just started practice this week. I'm at work and he is at his dad's house so he can take care of him. But I work 12 hour shifts so I am beat when I get home, so no working out this weekend. I hope the 11 y/o tooth tightens up on its own.

I'm scorekeeper at the games (can't even turn my head from side to side or I mess up the pitch count!) and the rest of the time I'm dropping and running - I used to be able to swim when my oldest had swim practice but now he drives himself because I'm running the other two! Ah, those were the days - :) The blood work didn't go so well - he passed out and they couldn't do it....Love my life...

Yea! Managed to get my workout done! Got it done by 8:30 in time to observe Earth Hour and turn out all the lights! My youngest and I read a book by candlelight for an hour on the couch - was so incredibly peaceful... should do that more often! Of course at 9:30 as soon as the hour was up we promptly turned the soccer game on! :) Go USA
