Ending a 7 day water fast today. I am fasting for autophagy (helps tighten skin and heal damaged areas in your body) and for insulin resistance.

I lost 8 lbs on the fast but 2-3 will return when I eat. Much more than I anticipated and since I'm not doing it primarily for weight loss I would have been happy with much less or even no loss.

Fun fact. When I fast I love to look at cookbooks and plan my next meals. Crazy right?! I can cook for my family and it doesn't even bother me. Last night I planned out 2 weeks of yummy Keto meals!!!
157.8 lb Lost so far: 45.2 lb.    Still to go: 7.8 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

In answer to my experience with autophagy, my skin has been firming up as I lose. Many of my age spots are gone as are most of my skin tags (which, by the way, are becoming recognized as an indicator of Diabetes). I had dark patches of skin in folds, under my breast and in my groin area (can't remember the name for this condition, but it's slso an indicator for Diabetes) and it's mostly gone as well. But, the main reason I am doing extended fasting is to heal my insulin resistance.
