ShyGuy's Journal, 06 August 2012

One year ago, today, I began this journey to take off the weight, once and for all. I've, literally, had my ups and downs in this battle of the bulge. Though my toughest obstacles are, and continue to be, the holidays, and special ocassions that seem to come up everytime I look around; because every event is a reason to eat, and many times, that means exposure to family favorite foods that definately are not low carb; I do have weapons in this fight. My greatest weapons in this fight are; putting it in God's hands, right from the start; having an unshakeable determination to follow my low carb lifestyle, inspite of the pitfalls, and temptations; being an imaginative, good, cook capable of turning many of my family favorite foods, as well as other recipes I come across, into delicious low carb versions; the support, from my buddies, and tools available to me here on fatsecret; and having the, God given, wisdom to know that this is a lifestyle, I can forgive myself and move on any time I fall off the wagon, and the battle isn't over until I win. I've lost 65 pounds, in this year, but, overall, I've taken off 142 pounds from my all time high. God is good! :-)
