Good for you, taking the steps to drink more water in the day. I've come to see the work environment as a real obstacle course to navigate, what with all the sweets people bring in to share. Now, someone going in your desk and taking your water - that is just rude.

I know! Grr. We do a cake once a month for all the birthdays so at least they are pretty reasonable about it, and it's easy to abstain since there's no pressure to grab a piece. It's only the Customer Service Week and 'earned' parties that there's sometimes a bit of pressure to eat, but it's nothing like ANY of the past jobs I've had where you can get ostracized for not eating. It's a good place other than the food thieving.

break the seal and drink a little or pour a little out to look like it has been used lol...most people don't want to drink after someone else.

take a marker and mark through a line so if someone tampers aka removes and puts lid back you will know because the line does not line up

WOW!!!! I'd be pissed if someone took personal items out of my desk. That's jacked up! I like Jadsl's idea; open them and drink from all of them at one time. lol

Jadsl: Thank you for the idea. I'll start with writing my name on them in very thick, dark sharpie. It'd be terrible to be caught with someone else's stuff. If I need to be more drastic, I'll definitely do your other suggestions.
Andi: I will if I have to! I work overnight shift so it's likely someone within my team on my day off. Well actually yeah it had to be my day off... Don't work Sat and some in Mon and gone. I thought some were gone on Sat. but I thought I was imagining things. I'll just take this as a cheap lesson on the ethics of one of my coworkers.
