My BOSS brought me a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit from McDonald's this morning. I couldn't not eat it right?

I don't know what diet you're following, but you could have just taken it off the roll. Whenever I order a burger in a restaurant I ask them to serve it to me without the roll. Of course McDonald's wouldn't do that, but the sausage, egg and cheese would have been ok without the biscuit.

^^PhillySue. Regardless of the dietstyle, the bread has the least food value and losing it will - at the very least - reduce the calories by at least 100.

I agree with the above comments, but sometimes it is "politically correct" to go with the flow, especially if the boss is buying! Sort of like going to someone's home for dinner and then refusing to eat anything -- could be seen as an insult to them and/or their cooking. Of course, it depends on the company and the boss -- if they would understand your need to restrict your foods, great; but if they are apt to be insulted, don't take the chance (unless you don't care about progressing in the company.) Some things are just part of life!

Oh Panda's mom........ I always remove the bread from sandwiches and wraps. I just shrug and say I'm not eating bread, no one has ever been offended. 'they just take it in stride; lot's of people watch what they eat. I think people respect you for having control. My boss occasionally brings me a drink and she has just learned that I prefer the unsweet Tea. If you spend time with people they eventually will know that you are on a diet. That's OK.

That's why I said it depends on the company and the boss. I have found that smaller companies are usually much more understanding of individual "idiosyncrasies," whereas some of the larger ones are more concerned with the "corporate image" (although there has been progress made in the past several years.) And there are enough people now who cannot tolerate things like gluten, and sugar, etc., etc. that there is less criticism than there was in the past. However, it does still occur -- and unfortunately, I think it depends more on whether you are a man or a woman, and whether the boss is a man or a woman!

@PhillySue, i order stuff at mcdonald's without the bread whenever we're traveling, so they will absolutely do it! :-) i've never had anyone, work or not, give me a hard time about my eating habits. and i think it's becoming more and more common for people to eschew bread.

Anyone can see that I've got weight to lose, so whose going to argue! Better to eschew than to chew!

This McDonalds sandwich (greasy, salty saugage or whatever that meat patty is) is still a crappy choice regardless of whether the biscuit was eaten or not. To eat the sandwich or not eat the sandwich........depends on the boss. She/he isn't going to be buying them every day for you, correct? If not, then no worries. I probably would have nibbled what I could eat or possibly lie about having an allergy to one of the components of the sandwich so that I wouldn't have to eat it.

I would have felt bad to toss the biscuit. It was delicious! And he definitely doesn't buy them for me everyday.

Well, no worries. You did it once and that isn't terrible.
