LadyinDenim's Journal, 22 July 2016

My scrubs have been hanging on me. I look like a deflated balloon. Ordered six new pieces in XL. Am wearing 3X now. I figure I can just keep pulling the drawstring tighter until I shrink into the XL.

Realised I lost 10% of my body weight since starting back up with fs. Another 10% will bring me to 215#, which is a very nice mini goal.

My resting pulse rate is 68. Amazing. It has been over 110 for years. Last time I recorded it here, it was 88. BP cuff is at work. Will ask the night nurse to measure my BP in the morning.

Have been sleeping better, lately. Decided to ease up on my perfectionism where frequency and length of fasts is concerned. I am committed and will continue to do my best, which sometimes fell short of my stated intentions.

Read in the fb group that some people are stalling even with extended fasts, and regaining all their weight despite adherence to KD. I need to turn my focus outward a little bit more. My life is more than the food I eat or don't eat.

Diet Calendar Entry for 22 July 2016:
473 kcal Fat: 35.00g | Prot: 29.96g | Carb: 12.76g.   Breakfast: Coffee. Lunch: Cucumber (with Peel), Organic Prairie Organic Pork Breakfast Sausage. more...

Super on the "new clothes"! That's a big size drop. All your health markers are pointing the right direction. I too tend to get too absorbed in the weight loss effort and need to remind myself it is not the be-all and end-all of my life. I've been intrigued by what fasting can accomplish and also that there are ways to mimic it (while still eating) and get about the same results. The latter is easier for me than not eating and may be something you can incorporate. There are a lot of ways to approach it, and we can mix and match too.

I love it when you can fit into new, or even old clothes.

wow, 10% is a lot, congratulations! you're doing great and your determination is inspiring. i've been lazy lately and allowing too many "slips". i do better if i stay on the straight and narrow, i've found that even a small treat leads me to binge. always enjoy your posts! congrats again, you're doing great!!

I reached that same conclusion yesterday while swimming, Lady. I know for a fact that "thoughts become things". If we spend all our time obsessing about what to eat or not eat, how much weight we have or haven't lost, etc., what are we telling our bodies? What are we creating by beating ourselves up over what we look like?

Lady, you're doing great! The drop in size is one thing, and it's good, but the improvement in your resting pulse says a lot about improving health which in the long run is what this is all about. Hope the BP is good, too. Great thoughts Kes.

I glided though a mile this morning, didn't even break a sweat. Last year I would have been cursing gravity and the wind before I even made the half mile turn. Thinking, becoming, being, it's all Zen.

@berley1, I have had too many indulgences lately, as you can see in my food diary. The world is full of food I can eat or not eat. Cravings and addictions notwithstanding, it's my decision. Went out to buy a new digital scale (that reports the same weight as my old analog - go figure) and was walking through WalMart, the junk food capitol of the western world. I was imagining I might buy a Snickers bar or some Cheetos. As I was walking up to the store, I noticed the loose fabric of my size 22s brushing the skin on my legs. Hey, these aren't tight any more. I was walking at a fairly brisk pace, and no shortness of breath. I liked it. On the way back to my car, I watched an obese woman limping toward the store, her clothes a bit on the tight side. She was a few feet from her car and already huffing. I loved her so much in that moment and also loved myself. I felt grateful for the miracle that I am recovering from obesity. No, I didn't buy any junk, just the scale and some pens.

Lady you are doing great! Health is the most important thing, not a number on the scale. I am happy for you!

This is why I believe in rotating diets and exercise and activity. Nothing is 100 percent and there is some science behind all of itty.
