holidaybunny's Journal, 30 May 2016

Back from Japan, woke up at 4. i wasn't surprised that I gained weight, we walked a LOT but we also ate great food. i forgot I was about 152/153 when we left, so I didn't actually gain that much weight. i gained less than when I was in North Dakota eating badly and drinking a lot. all things considered, I did pretty well. I'm hoping to use my exercise momentum and continue to move a lot. hopefully jetlag won't interfere too much.

I pick up my KITTEN on June 7th!! 😍😆 I'm so excited. also my sisters bachlorette in Austin is June 2nd -5th. I'll have practical been on nonstop flights. i have to fly to Portland Maine and back in one day to pick up my kitty.

my solace in the end is that I'm still more than 10 pounds lighter than I was this time last year. i still think that's an accomplishment. i also had a lot of moments of body positivity whole in Japan, despite being surrounded by waif-like people.
154.4 lb Lost so far: 11.6 lb.    Still to go: 29.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

I just loved Japan. I lived in Iwakuni for 18 months. The people are so polite and yes, the food is delicious. What part of Japan were you visiting? Poor kitty. I am sure he/she can't wait to be back with you. Your weight gain doesn't look bad at all. You had fun, didn't you? Sometimes it just ok to enjoy life and not focus solely on the kilos/pounds especially on holiday.

I went to Tokyo and Kyoto with a day trip to Nara. The bathrooms are amazing. And yes the people are so nice. I was there for 2 weeks and the moment I got back I noticed the differences in infrastructure and manners lol. I DID have fun! I haven't met my kitty yet! I pick him up from the breeder then. I'm allergic to cats so I had to gte a special breed vs adopted which I would have done otherwise!

They are super tidy and everything is clean. They aren't super loud people, but they do love lots of lighting. I remember seeing everything lit up at night. My fav was their Soba noodles and octopus (Yakisoba Soba noodles).........mmm. The people are tiny. Boy did I have a time trying to find clothes and shoes there. I shopped on base mostly. I was stationed in Iwakuni......MCAS. I had culture shock when I came back to the states. It started immediately when I boarded the plane back to the U.S. There is a BIG difference between Americans and the Japanese for sure. I think the 0.8 kilo is worth the fun and memories. You took me back to my time there and I am glad I experienced Japan. Well, good luck with your kitty hon.

You can bloat when you travel, so give it a couple days anyway. Sounds like you had a great time. My kids were born in South Korea. We were stationed there for a while. We got to go to Japan too.
