I have increased my walking because my job is extremely sedentary. For the past 3 weeks, I have been going across the street from work and walking a mile on the indoor track. I decided that my bad knee was up to an increase, so I have been walking this week a mile in the morning and a mile at lunch. Yesterday, I had some extra time, so I walked a little further than a mile both times. When I got home from work, I carried all my things in the house, but forgot something and went back to the car. When I stepped over the threshold into the house, my Fitbit started vibrating and the lights were flashing. Apparently, since I've never reached my daily goal of 10,000 steps I didn't know that my Fitbit congratulated me when I did!! What fun! Anyway, I hope to continue this trend ... I feel better for getting up and moving!!

Thinking I want one of those things. My phone has an ap that counts my steps, but I don't carry it with me most of the time so it thinks I am a lazy bum!!

Yay! Good for you! I think I'm going to buy a kitchen timer to clip on to my belt to remind me to stand up and walk a bit every 20 min at my job. They say sitting is the new smoking.

Rguarino, I almost jumped out of my skin when it went off ... I thought something was wrong with it! Today, however, I was just proud when it went off. Rhontique & Kppgreen, if you're interested in keeping track [and having friends share with you their efforts], it helps to remind you to get up and move. It's amazing how much we just SIT! I have had mine now for over a year and Until a few weeks ago, I thought i was doing good to get in 3500 steps a day. Then I decided to get to moving more and it's paying off. I'm also excited to see what it does to my weight loss efforts.
