It is not my information...I am just sharing it because I thought it might help guide some of us with our protein intake. I am trying to follow a LCHF/ketogenic lifestyle, so I want to make sure that I am not overdoing the protein.

The following information came from http://thenourishedcaveman.com/low-carb-high-protein/...

How much protein do I actually need?

It really depends on you age, the state of your metabolism and how much lean muscle mass your body is composed of. The more lean muscle you have, the more protein you can tolerate.

Dr. Ron Rosedale calculated the formula at 1 gram of protein for KG of ideal body weight – minus 10%.

If you are very athletic you can calculate about 1 gram of protein per kg of body weight.
If you are very sedentary, overweight, diabetic or pre-diabetic, you should not eat more than .5 gram of protein for kg of body weight.
(In the 2 examples above don’t subtract the 10%)
