Socolova's Journal, 27 January 2015

So, as most of you know, I have started training for a 10k in May. Yesterday was strength training and today was my first day outside. I was surprised at how quickly I warmed up, it was about 20 degrees here. So I'm thinking that the cold won't be as awful as I thought. HOWEVER, the 2 inches of snow that fell last night was a bit difficult to wade through. I'm sure I looked really cool sliding and stumbling, but gosh darn it I went! I SUCKED IT UP (Rockiesfan) and went :) Woot Woot!

Yes!!!! Good job! So, what did you do on your strength training day. I didn't know what to do so I used all of the machines for 30 minutes then did some stretching and planking for the core.

I warmed up with the bike for 15 minutes, did a lot of "hills"...then I did basically the same as you, an ab routine mixed with planking and push ups and squats...I don't prefer weights so I would like to stick to body weight strength training, I have a resistance band and some videos saved but Day 1 snuck up on me so I figured that should be sufficient :)

Ok Ok! At least I know I'm on the right track. Tomorrow is "other cardio" day. I'm not sure what I'll do.

I'm fine getting up with my alarm, but once I let the dogs out and feel how cold it is, I'm like WTH am I doing? Then I say SUCK IT UP...it totally works ;)

It's supposed to be "frigid" here next week, might have to buckle down and pay for the gym!
