it seems the weight does not want to drop much below 200 have been hovering around 200 for the past week what gives have been following the calorie restrictions and diet? the recent weight in at 197 must have been due to water loss and maybe an empty stomach. also just started my first day of working noc shift where i walk up to 5 mile per night so maybe i will lose a lot of weight this week

Take ur cals consumed.... subtract cals burned with exercise /walking only... your delta should be no less than 1400...if so, u need to eat more. See my log around april 28... stuck for weeks eating 1800 cals... added 200 or so and started losing again... tricked my body into thinking the famine was over!

i lost 4 pounds this week walking 5 miles per night i figured that my calories burned are 2000 plus 1000 for the walking on my job for about 4 hours continuosly figured the calories burned are about 1000 calories per night. i think you have a point i think i was losing weight too fast and my body went into shock from the lack of calories and i gained 4 pounds but then after this 7 day work week i've dropped 4 pounds from walking 5 miles per night for 7 days in a row. i also believe my tennis playing is what triggered the weight gain i had only consumed 1200 calories in one day and played enought tennis to burn 700 calories so 2700 calories burned and only 1200 consumed is what might have sent my body into shock/weight gain mode even though having a huge caloric deficit. i'm trying to lose it too fast by severly restricting calorice intake vs. calories burned.

Concur... u can probably do it for a day or 2, before ur body recognizes the pattern, so no biggie if u just dont get to eat enough one day... just make sure you eat enough the next day.

do you really believe that you are tricking your body to burn more calories by eating more calories i always thought it was a summation game in the end of the 6 month period the one that has the larger daily deficit will be the biggest weight loser over a long period of time.

i also forgot that as you lose weight your bmr drops i was 2000 calories at 210 but i'm now at 195 and forgot that my basal metabolic rate has dropped also and didn't figure that in my bmr now is around 1830 and the lower your weight drops the more difficult it is to lose weight because you have to consume a contiually lesser amount of calories to lose weight.

so the dropping bmr could be the reason i'm at a plateau i havent dropped the caloric intake to reflect the new bmr at 195 lbs.

i recommend avoiding eating out you have no control over calories consumed and chinese food is full of grease, carbs, and sugar to many calories.
