megan4's Journal, 10 May 2009

Wow - rock bottom day yesterday - no exercise, really really really bad food choices - nothing good -
thinking about it all morning - can't believe I could willingly undo all these weeks of hard work. Absolutely ashamed of myself.
Enough said.
Today is a new day.

Today is a new day! One bad day can NOT undo all of the weeks of work you've done. No shame, no guilt, just moving on. Don't beat yourself up! Yesterday for dinner I ate a hoagy and fries, for pete's sake!!! So cut yourself some slack!!

On the Abs Diet, they recommend one meal a week of anything you like. Making your calories twice what they normally are boosts your metabolism by some big percent for the whole next day. So if you keep it down today you should be fine. Isn't it great to have this FS journal to keep us in line? I don't know about you, but without this, I would have gone on and on having not just a bad day, but a bad week.

I totally agree with the other comments. You CANNOT undo weeks of work with one "bad" day. This week I had two days when I ate stuff that isn't really on my list of acceptable foods and I still lost 3 lbs. Don't be so harsh on yourself! That's how we let things get out of hand in the first place--by beating ourselves up. And as Teehee said, it's good to mix up the level of calories. Forgive yourself, figure out how to better prepare yourself next time you're in whatever situation you were in, and move on. And you're right. Each day is new. Each day is a fresh start.
