ChrisSpark's Journal, 24 July 2014

Ok, so I am having Stevia in my coffee in accordance with the NO SUGAR challenge and it ALMOST tastes the same, or so I am trying to tell myself. The stevia still reminds me of other artificial sweeteners in the "feel" you get on the tongue. It doesn't leave as much aftertaste, so maybe I can make the switch permanent...probably not, lol :-)

Haven't been doing as well on the diet though...since the buffet on Sunday and grocery shopping on Tuesday, there's too much food around. No junk or processed food though, so even though the calories aren't where they should be, at least the food is nutritious. That doesn't explain why I feel lousy though...definitely fighting through a fibro flare, everything hurts and there's no good reason (like exercise). Sigh...it brings me down and then my self-control goes missing. I want to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather so I must find the motivation.

be good to yourself when you're having the fibro flare. don't beat yourself up! and it's great you're eating nutritious food and not junk. i haven't tried stevia in my tea, so i am just having the wee bit of sugar i use. fortunately, i don't like sweet coffee.

Thanks for the reminder Gnewfry. I am always hard on myself, just for suffering a fibro flare...so annoying...

i feel like a lot of the time the fibro is out of my control. unless i exercise too much, then i know i have made a mistake. do you take something for it? i take savella. it's pretty good most of the time, but my insurance doesn't cover it and it costs a lot of money.

Chris - we used to use Stevia all the time, then my wife found "Monk Fruit" sweetener. It is also all natural, and I don't think it leaves the same aftertaste though, as you said, Stevia is better than most.
