I JUST WANT TO GO TO A FAT FARM, Why-So that all the people that want to feed me would go away. lol :(( My Mother In Law cooked a special Shrimp dinner last night for us. I was good and only ate the shrimp passed on the bread, but ate a sweet salad with fruit, and cranberries. Today I plumbed up, and my stomach is bulging. Yikes! So now, It back to hard core "Keto" again. Any suggestions on how you should eat on a "keto Diet" when you are going out to eat at a restaurant? I bring (Peanut Butter.) I tend to go out a lot because I am a dancer. I love all your comments. Your encouragement helps me a lot! Blessings

I would like to help you but I don't know about keto, I am doing portion control of everything I eat 😊, I don't like to eat restaurants's food to often (too many calories)

I think it was Jimmy John's but more places are starting to offer lettuce wraps or turning the sandwich/burrito into a salad/bowl option

some places may charge extra but replace pasta/breads with a vegetable. get all dressings and sauces on the side. I explain right away that my order may be weird because I don't eat carbs and sugar. most mainstream restaurants will be willing to accommodate, but I've found that more local places are not as friendly when you have to make changes to their menu

look for items that have protein in it to fit your diet. get a hamburger without the bun. that is what i do when i go out.

Have any "plain" meats - steak, fish, burgers, Shrimp, etc, just leave off sauces and buns. Salads are OK but you don't have to eat all the greens; get full-fat dressings or ask for olive oil & vinegar. Avoid soybean and other vegetable oils (EVOO is fine).

Also, watch the carbs in peanuts and cashews. Cheeses are generally carb-free.

What helps me is keeping my carbs intake at 20 a day no higher than 30

I have tried these specialized diets but I find it so hard to keep on target by following a strict regime. I have 2 small kids and my schedule changes all the time. So now I am trying intermittent fasting. So I don't eat for 16 hours and then eat for 8. I read this about the basis of the Keto diet vs the 16/8 fasting in nerd fitness ( ttps://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/a-beginners-guide-to-intermittent-fasting/ )...
"By only eating fat and protein, your body must adapt to run on fat for fuel instead of carbohydrates. In the absence of carbs/glucose, your body converts fats to ketones and uses them for fuel.
This process is called “ketosis,” and there are two ways for a body to enter ketosis:
Eating in a way that induces ketosis (very low carb, high fat).
Fasting…"
I find for me fasting for a short period is easier. Basically I am just skipping breakfast and trying to eat decent for the rest of the 8 hours i.e keeping my carbs low and cutting out refined sugar. I've only been doing it for a week and a half I will have to Keep you posted on my progress

Soo many places offer subs or just ask for things without buns etc... Jimmy John's has unwiches, Hardee's has low carb burgers, breakfast bowls. Other restaurants will do the same.. I've been doing it for years. It's not that abnormal now days...
