Frustrated. I know any loss is a good loss, but when I did low carb a couple of years ago the weight seemed to just fall off. Three weeks and 7 pounds lost seems like a slow start. I'm trying to look at it as 7 pounds that I carry around no more, but would still prefer a little more of a loss.
197.0 lb Lost so far: 7.0 lb.    Still to go: 47.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 1.2 lb a week

Don't compare the past losses with now. So many things effect our rate of weight loss. As we get older, it can get harder. But 7 pounds in 3 weeks is amazing. I would be jumping for joy. Take the loss and keep going. Some weeks will be bigger than others. Some weeks you may gain (even when doing everything right) and some weeks you may stay the same. It's all normal. You just have to commit and have patience.

Thank you Suzi. Logically I know all this to be true. Sometimes it just helps to have someone else say it. :)

Tamarah - I feel great. I have come to the conclusion that I will probably have to eat low carb for the rest of my life in order to not feel like crap! I had started having some bad stomach issues and felt horrible everyday pretty much. About 3 days after I started eating low carb again I felt so great. So now it's become not just about losing the weight but also just feeling better. I just have to remind myself from time to time. ;)

You probably put on 7 pounds a lot quicker than it took you to take it off. Lets face it, weight loss is kind of like: "a disaster can tear down a city in 5 minutes, but it can take years to build it back up again" only essentially the opposite, you know? Keep working, it will get easier. And congrats on those first 7 pounds!

I agree, 7 pounds is nothing to sneeze at....all of us are impatient to lose what we unfortunately acquired. Sometimes it is really difficult to stay calm and let the program take its course. But you are very wise to get the weight off now...it won't get any easier the older you get, I promise you that; besides, you have a precious little girl sitting beside you in your picture who will certainly want to enjoy her healthy and beautiful mommy for many more years. You are also wise to realize that this is not a diet but a way of life. We are all here in your corner, rooting you on!
