Chino Hills is a gorgeous area. I grew up in Pomona, before moving to Arkansas. I miss the unlimited things to do, but not the super busy pace and judgy people!! Gorgeous hike!! Great job!

I hike this trail all the time. We must live in the same world.

wow that is beautiful I miss the mountains. My husband and I after retirement spent 6 months of the year in Vallecito Lake, Colorado. Came home after 8 years because of his health. I really miss it and I miss having a rig.

Klynn82: That's quite the change! I grew up in Maine and I miss it!

smprowett: I'm trying to make the hikes a regular thing. I also got my bike tuned up and will take that out every so often. The gym is boring...

jan-e333: I've never been to Vallecito Lake. It sounds lovely though. It's nice out here, but I miss the green forests of New England.

Kenna Morton: Maybe we will cross paths one day!

I grew up in the suburbs and spent a lot of time in and around the Olympic Rain forest hiking so wide open spaces like that give me agoraphobia! LOL 🙅🏻‍♀️LOL Keep me hemmed in with tall mountains, trees, city buildings, the ocean, when I can see too far I get anxious...start to feel like I’m not accomplishing enough. LOL 😆 🤷🏻‍♀️I’d go nuts I think on the plains. LOL 🙋🏻‍♀️

Kevinlyfellow— go to the Sierra Club website and check to see if they hike that area on Tuesday and Thursday nights still. It has been a standard forever..Also, do you do El Moro Canyon off coast highway above Crystal Cove, and above Laguna High School! State Park so expensive to park but I just buy the annual pass because I do those areas so often. Multiple different routes— 3 to 12 miles. Ends up looking up and over PCH and the ocean. 12 miles whips my but, but it’s worth it. Slow and easy.

Smprowett: I am so jealous. I went up to Washington once and loved it. It is so beautiful.

Kenna: that's a great idea, I'll check out the Sierra Club. I haven't been done El Moro yet. But my friend and I just got started on making this a regular thing, so we may try it out in the near future.

Kevinlyfellow— with a state park pass ($190.00] you can hike all the local state beaches like El Moro, Huntington and crystal Cove- otherwise it’s about 15-20$ to park. Well worth it. Lots and lots of choices— if you need any recommendations let me know. Last weekend I did a couple miles IN THE SAND at Huntington—that burns some calories. Also, get your map out and find Black star Canyon out by Silverado. There is a black puma out there . I have seen it once. Forest service denies it exists, but it does.
