Doing some adjusting and learning still about how I respond to the carbs, and how to best balance my carb intake through the day. I have found when I eat little or virtual no carbs at breakfast I am not the least bit hungry till 1 or 2 in the afternoon. But then when I make a salad for myself in the afternoon, I tend to consume most of my carbs for the day with that meal. And, I find I am getting hungrier than I feel I should be at that point. Then I start eating nuts, and it is hard to be satisfied with just a few. I think I need to work at not going so heavily into the veggies then, and making sure I have enough protein at that meal. I also tried adding some carbs to my breakfast to see if I could balance out my intake a bit better through the day. Added 1/4 c of blueberries with a 1/4 c of whole milk plain yogurt. Was more carbs than I thought in the salsa, so I will have to be careful when I am using that in an omelet in the morning.

I am doing this not in response to the scale as much as my sense of satiety. The scale will do what it will do. I have learned to focus on how I am feeling in the day to day, rather than the numbers on the scale as I went through that 6 week stretch of flat lining on the scale. How I feel on this diet, and my ability to sustain it for the rest of my life is more important to me than how the scale moves...or doesn't. I also believe that low carb is the best path to good health, for me. The long view is what sustains my effort.
