Well, wonders never cease! This girl finally got 7 hours of good sleep! I haven't been able to get in more than 5 since I left the hospital and I have to state, it was taking its toll. I'm on a steady dose of muscle relaxers for the banding and muscle spasticity. It's not "take as needed either", it's more like "DON'T SKIP A DOSE" type of instructions. Of course, I do because I don't want to be loopy and drowsy right before strength training. I prefer to weather through it and take it afterward to help the muscles relax. That being stated, lack of sleep mixed in with muscle relaxers, is not always a pleasant cocktail. Yesterday, I felt like crawling in a corner and rocking back and forth, or just crying out of the sheer effort to keep my eyes open. Yesterday was a "fatter-day" and the second drink finally threw this body over the edge. I was out by the minute my head hit the pillow and for the most part, remained that way until the morning.

When I did wake up, "oh my lamb" I felt good! If y'all workout, DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE VALUE OF A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP! I am 4.9 lbs up on the scale. I had taken the water weight back down to 187, apparently this body was holding on to .8 post workout on Wednesday, which is actually typical. But, as we all know a good fatter-day will bring that number back up. I'm already on my first liter of water and am working on finishing 2 liters before today's workout and 4 liters by the end of the day. Hopefully, we'll see my last low by Monday or Tuesday.

On the workout front, I have already begun splitting the workout between cardio days and strength training days. It is technically less exercise than before if one whittles that out, but I prefer to start that routine now than wait until I start the immune-suppressants. It's tough because I don't know what to expect and am petitioning the universe that I will adjust easily and still be able to keep up with the workouts. The workouts above all, even when I feel like want to collapse, keep my mood up. I gulp down another cup of coffee, get my butt in gear, and afterward I always feel better. It's a natural prozac, and I'm really hoping to stay away from any anti-depressants when it comes dealing with MS. However, I now understand the importance of not over-doing it and giving these muscles appropriate time to heal. Splitting the workout is nice. Actually, the strength training still comes out to an hour alone, and I still add a few other exercises in with the cardio so I still feel like it's a full workout and a challenge, but manageable.

Anyhow, that's about all the updates I have for now...have a wonderful Friday everyone! Don't forget to move your body!
