I don't know if I'm doing it right. It's hard to tell what my activity level is. I do have a standing job (about 4-5 hours a day) and I run one mile three times a week. I kept it on sedentary though, so the max I should eat is 1500 calories. I hope I'm not hurting myself. The hunger has become easier to deal with, currently I'm always in this constant state of minuscule hunger. Now if I eat too much to being full it brings on a sense of pain. Is it the normal to be hungry often? Is my stomach getting used to smaller portions?

2 things I've been told and have adhered to....1. never eat back exercise calories 2. Hunger is a part of eating in a deficit.

Is eating in deficit bad?

Eating in deficit isn't bad, but it can be a bit uncomfortable (especially at first). Your stomach does adapt to less over time, so when you overeat you will get pain like you described. I suffer from Binge Eating Disorder, and when I would fast / restrict hardcore for a week or two and then binge again it would be so uncomfortable and I'd feel sick. Make sure to eat slowly, as our brains can be a bit slow registering when our stomachs are full :)
