Well. Now that I'm sure of my weights and measures, I calculated my body fat percentage using the US Navy and YMCA formulas, which are supposed to be accurate within 3% of the water displacement test. YMCA says 26% ("athletic"), Navy says 31% ("acceptable"). So I'm probably actually around 28.5%, and I'm only overweight because I'm so dense. I'm going to continue counting calories and tracking my exercise routine, maybe trim 5-10 pounds and hopefully a couple inches from my waist, but it looks like I don't need to be so concerned about my body mass index.
