Annie42's Journal, 13 April 2016

So, I have to qualify my food journal for anyone peeking at it. After I drove 45 mins, and dropped my teenagers off for their SAT test this morning at 8am, I took my youngest daughter on an all-day adventure to our "big city" another 90 mins away. We had breakfast at Perkins. I cannot find the all-veggie omelette on the FS menu, so I hit the "everything Omelette". The NC's are over what I know I had.
Then, in order to make it home early enough, and not starve, I got some McNuggets- at the request of my 10 yo. I tend to peel the coating off- so I haven't a clue what the real NC's would have been there. We are extremely limited up here with restaurants, so, sometimes, ya just gotta improvise and make things work.
I walked so much today, I think my legs are going to fall off. Menards for 3 or 4 hours; Lowe's for 2-3 hours; TJ MAXX for and hour. I had to visit these places and gather pricing and ideas for the rebuild. After all that, I drove 2 hours to get back to our old home site, and sort through all the ashes. Still finding precious photos of my Grammie, kids, etc. =) Happy, but exhausting day. Blessings to you all!

Glad you found some more pictures. Did you ever find the ring?

Nope...never found the ring. But, I'm at peace over it. All my kids are alive, my husband is alive, and so am I. =)

Wow, you had a very exhausting day, I hope u find more of your treasures, it's very sad what happened to you.

Thank you, Smartygirl! It is sad, but I am so incredibly thankful for everything that I do have. Losing all the material items is really nothing compared to having the lives of my family preserved. We only have one more trailor to load with debris, and that's it. Not sure what else we will find today, but, I'll still go out and take a look. I have a feeling that the ring either went down a drain pipe in the basement, or was loaded on a trailor and its already gone. Its possible that its buried in the ground too. I;ll be fine with or without it. It would just have been nice to have that one thing of Mom's. All the pictures I found of her seem all the more dear to me now. Back to work!

Yes, family is first, I'm relieved that it wasn't worse... Even if the outcome was horrible, you and everyone else made it through... Phew! I've never experienced a fire but I did lose all my material things, years and years ago when I left an abusive man and never looked back. It takes strength and it's a struggle but I'm hoping you'll find the ring one day, someday. I wish you and your family a blessed recovery!
