Annie42's Journal, 07 April 2016

I seem to be getting chubbier by the day- even with no weight gain. Watching everything, keep it LCHF. Slowed down on the coffee, adding more water and unsweetened tea. Not sure how to really incorporate decent exercises here at the temporary house, and since we're in the middle of a "SNOWpocalypse" walking outdoors is kind of unpleasant. Grrr. I will figure something out. That's one of the more challenging things about living this far north---very long winters. Phoeey.
Ah well, back to the drawing board!

you got this! a friend of mine introduced me to HIIT. simply explained it's just high intensity, but small intervals (sprint for 1 min, rest for 2 min). You can do this with body weight exercises! burpees, mountain climbers for high intensity but small intervals should be a good start. i too am a beginner, so i'm right there with ya. good luck!

Thank you so much for the ideas!!!! Without any stairs in our temporary living quarters, I feel like a slug. I used to run up and down three flights of stairs in our old house. That was, more or less, my "sprint". I did Callanetics also, but lost the DVD (and my exercise spot) and the stairs, when our house burned down. I will have to look up on the internet what burpees and mountain climbers are---and see if I can do them here- with no stairs. Thank you again!!!! =)

to save you some time, burpees are : jump straight up, land, then do a push up. that is 1 count, and you'll jump up once more to start the next count. start with 20 counts non stop and do that for 3 sets. let me know how that goes

get yourself a hula hoop and swing it around your waist for 1 hour this will help build abs and slim down your body. Eat smaller portions like weight watchers meals in the frozen food section of stores this will teach and help you. Leave soda pop and chips and sugar alone as these make u gain weight.

track your food and make sure you're getting enough protein to maintain muscle....

Thank you ALL for the great suggestions! Never thought of a hula hoop! I can do that after DH leaves for work, and the kids are sleeping! I eat LCHF- so pop, chips and sugar are no-no's here. I am still trying to shake the effects from the jelly bean "episode" a couple weeks ago, I guess. My fat-protein-net carb ratio stays around 70-20-10, or slight variations on that when the fat goes a little higher. I realize part of my inability in exercising this week is due to the fracture in my left foot. (toe met a corner moulding, bent sideways and the metatarsal got damaged on impact.) I should be able to hula hoop though. The burpee might not work so well until this bugger heals. onward and downward, we go!!! Thanks again, everyone!
