Weight has not moved in a week. I supposed that could be a good thing? It dawned on me that I hadn't posted an entry regarding the debacle with the church pot luck last Friday. It took over an hour to drive there, because we live farther away now- after the house fire. So, I was a few minutes late. But driving there was incredible- not in a good way. As I was heading further south, I started sneezing uncontrollably in the car. By the time I got to church, I could hardly breathe, and my nose was out of control, sneezing. So, while I attempted to eat some lo-carb dip and crustless quiche, I could taste NOTHING. I tried to chat, but I left early, stopped at the gas station to get some Benadryl because I could not breathe at all. All I can figure, is with the rapid melting up here, some serious pollen action or something was happening that would have caused such a drastic change in the air. So a major eating catastrophe was completely avoided- thanks to allergies! YAY!
As for this week....we started Monday out at the doc's. Both of my daughters...10 and 17, were awfully sick over the weekend. This is unusual. So, I figured maybe a flu bug. Ended up taking DD17 to the hospital after the docs. They're testing her for Mono, and checking her electrolytes. BP was really low too. And, her throat is bleeding. So, she's on a Zpack now. DD10...we thought she had pneumonia. But, her lungs are clear. So, all the coughing and congestion might be from all the matter that's in the air over at the burned house, and its bothering both of them. Its just irritating their lungs, and all of it is exacerbated by the flu bug. So.....drinking lots of fluids over here. Doc figures I mitigated the damage of flu by taking the oregano oil. The kids chose to mock.... "Mom's loony herbal stuff won't work!" And, here we are. It does sound a bit weird, but that stuff behaves both like an antibiotic and decongestant. Ancient Greek and Roman cultures used it to treat respiratory illness, sinus problems, etc. It might not work quite as fast as a Zpack, but, it works amazingly well. So...going to walk the straight and narrow today -with foods. I need to take of me kiddies, so have a wonderful day everyone!
