Had a really great time at the party 🎉 with Ryan stayed up way to late. It took me most of yesterday day to feel recovered not quite as quick to bounce back as I once was, lol 😂. Back at it today though if a bit slow to get moving. Waiting for the last of the children to get home from school we have a descent day and a bit of money so we have decided to go to the pumpkin patch. Ryan has already had to tell work no to calling him in >< it's so hard to get time to do things as a family sometimes. Anyways 🤔 Im super excited to take them to pick out their pumpkins I was a little afraid the weather was going to force us to buy them from the grocery store this year. It's so much fun to take them to the pumpkin patch even if it's not the most cost effective thing. I love going every year 😊.

something fun for your kids to do. when you take out the inside of the pumpkins have the kids pull the seeds out ; rinse them off and put them on a paper towel to dry. Next have them put some ( set aside some for the following next project) talk to them about how healthy theses are for snack. put on a baking sheet dprinkle with either sea salt or cinnamon bake in a low oven ( google temp and how long cause i dont remeber) now for the next project you need a clear glass jar and wet paper towel. put the paper towel along the inside wall of the jar. next put 2 or 3 of the pumpkin seeds between the glass and the paper towl and place in a warm sunny spot. keep the paper towel moist. in a few days the seed will start to sprout. this is how they grow. remaining seeds can be kept in ziplock bag to plant their own pumpkin patch in the spring

I always soak mine in a mixture of salt and water to make it taste better.

What if we try baking the seeds and having the kids try them. We've done it in the past with mixed results. We've never germinated any of our seats before so we'll definitely try that this year unfortunately we won't be able to grow them anywhere. We live in an apartment building and although I do have some plants and pots I don't really have any places outside that are suitable for any larger plants particularly creeping vines. But germinating the plants will be a lot of fun for the children and they will enjoy that particularly the little ones. We're not going to carve our pumpkins until Friday because it was so late when we got home last nigh and Ryan doesn't have another day off until this upcoming Friday. That way we can all do it together as a family which I think will be more fun anyways. Friday is going to be a really hard day for me though because I have so much going on that day. Of course I work the truck on Friday's and although it's my short day (5:45ish-2:30p) we already had plans for 2 weeks before I was asked to work on Saturday. We will be going to Thorne's fall carnival, craving the pumpkins, having a Halloween movie scary night, along with fun activities involving all sorts of Halloween type themed things. I'm not sure how late will be staying up as we always have company over on Friday night. I normally stay up with our friends when they visit so I will be up late if not staying up all night as usual. I also have to go into work so I'm probably staying up all night and then working on top of that. I'll then come home and take a short nap. Get up clean the house and get ready for d&d after fixing the children dinner. D&d normally runs most of the night as most of our friends are night shifters and don't get off until late.
