I don't know what happened, but I find so many of my buddies are no longer active on this site. And most were very very active at a time or another. Besides Snow, I can see anyone anymore, at least not in the way I use to.

I have a twinge of nostalgia.

Too bad, I hope you all come back on.

This week I got with the program. I counted calories, and exercised regularly. I did what I was suppose to do to lose weight. If the math is correct, I should have lost a pound since I've got a calorie deficit of 3000 calories. I've went to the gym and sweated (3) times, doing one hour of cardio each time.

It was hard. 1300 cal a day is not much food, when your use to having food as a backdrop to your life. After supper, I was always hungry, but kept filled in with water. I don't know if it was real hunger or feeling something missing. I think it was part of both. Some will say, well you need more protein. But protein foods are dense in calories. If growing old is not for wimps, (as Betty Davis said) neither is dieting. And my hunger had nothing to do with cravings of junk food. Just good food that I would have eaten more of!

Anyway, I did it, and will repeat tomorrow. It's not pleasant but it's doable. I think maintenance will be a breeze since it'll be just enough calories to keep me satiated. Anyway, isn't it normal to be hungry if you're caloric intake is less than what is required for maintenance.

So here's hoping I get a loss tomorrow. I know I'll be disappointed if it's only a lbs. However, I'll put my big girl panties on and deal with it!

I think people stop being active out of these three reasons: 1. they have given up and are too ashamed, 2. they have too much going on in their lives and no time, 3. they don't think they need fs to keep losing or to maintain weight, usually they are wrong LOL. After a while you will feel less hungry because your stomach will shrink. If you eat salads with little protein for lunch and dinner it's less likely you will feel hungry. You can eat lot's of veggies and not got over your RDI. After dinner if you're still hungry just tell yourself what I do: you can eat plain lettuce if you want, then I am like: nah, forget it! LOL, if I was really hungry I wouldv'e eaten it but I just want to munch on something on some days. Tea helps fill me up, even in summer. It's 3500 cals for a pound of fat. Don't believe everything your apps or fatsecret tells you burned because the estimate can be really wrong.

Hi Snez - I eat a salad every day! As for tea, I've started making chai Tea with some frozen fruit, green tea and a bit of this and a bit of that. Then I refrigerate it. I'm keeping this up, for sure. I want to settle this weight loss and really don't expect to have any problem on maintenance, unless I give myself permission to go off the deep end! But my healthy eating ways are fully established and I think that Now I Understand...lol

I am one of those that have disappeared for a while. What happened? I can't really put my finger on one thing but just a slow progression of bad habits creeping back in. I have made an appointment with my doctor on wed to help kick me back into action. I need this site as much as I ever have but have been denying that fact. At first I knew I could maintain on my own but a few lbs crept on after vacation then another event happened and a few more lbs and here I am with an extra 10-12 lbs added to my body. I tell myself and my family I AM NOT GOING TO GAIN THIS WEIGHT BACK, but I need to back up my words with actions. Thank you all for continuing to contact me. I do read the comments even though I have been silent for months. I will respond honestly once i weight in on wednesday of this week.

Its very odd, I belong to a site called Minimins. I realised I wasn't posting as much. I visited a couple of times and saw that a lot of my buddies weren't posting, so I posted and a couple of buddies replied and I hoped that, in my circle at least, things would return to normal. But a couple of days later I found out that the site has been closed! This site was a big one with many members!!! I am so shocked and saddened because there is no way to find my buddies. They are gone forever :(

@C - and you've been doing so well. The site keeps you focused, and sometimes, if you're lucky, will provide you inspiration for that week, and even sometimes for a week! I know I've seen sayings, or ways of doing that just gave me a push in right direction, be it for a month or a day. And that what weight loss has been for me, a slow inconsistent, but constant drive in the right directions. Three steps forward, two steps back.. (in my case). But I've not let got and I keep on keeping on! lol Best

It is kind of summer here in Sweden. Not really, it is cloudy and seems more like fall. In any case I was away doing wood stuff in the forest <<< My excuse. :P Perhaps try to get more calcium? Good job though. I like boiled eggs.
