Happy Monday to all! I started this day by dragging out of bed and waking up my tired kiddos. Then, I made my way to the gym. I felt so exhausted when I started, but when I finished my workout, I was feeling much better.

I was sort of sluggish all weekend. I spent a lot of time in the car, as we drove about 6 hours south to join in celebrating my nephew's graduation. I did pretty well on food, avoided some of my former road trip snack standbys. I packed up some healthier snacks and we munched on those while in the car. I did not get much exercise, but I think my biggest problem was that I did not drink nearly as much water as I should have. I woke up Saturday morning feeling almost hungover, even though I had not had any alcohol--I just had not had all the water that I have become accustomed to drinking each day. Then, I did the same thing on Saturday, mostly to avoid frequent bathroom stops on the road. Yesterday, I drank so much water and I am doing the same thing today.

When we returned to town, we were able to join in a friend's birthday celebration. That was when I sort of lost control and ate birthday cake and drank wine. While I did not eat the 5 Guys burger they offered (it was cold anyway--if I am going to eat a burger, I want one fresh off the grill! :) ), I still wandered off the path of good eating.

I am not going to let that little set back derail me. I hear that the way to get this thing done is DO NOT QUIT!, so that is the plan. I had a good day yesterday, with my husband returning from his business trip to Asia. We played with our new mah jong set and listened to stories about the Great Wall and the Forbidden City. Today I am back on track and feeling fine.
