Pasta is less fattening if cooled down and then reheated before it is served, a study has found.

Just reading about this http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/health/11167883/Cool-and-reheat-pasta-to-make-it-less-fattening.html

@drullae Yeah, I think konjac has very little nutritional benefit. Its mostly just fibre, and water, to fill you up a bit.

i'm a bit biased on this one, i find pasta tasteless and only filling for a short time. since giving it and other carbs up i've not missed them much (i really thought i would struggle especially with bread). now i find it just leaves room on the plate for more meat and veg!! i will admit to missing my own homemade lasagne and occasionally i follow my son round the house when he eats warm toast with butter! on the other hand i've got yummy blueberry fat bombs in the freezer so who needs carbs heehee ;-)

I'm a total carb hound, if I don't have carbs I'm permanently starving (instead of just always a bit peckish) but an overall 'eating less' plan seems to be working for me - I was just eating more and more of everything!

One of my favourite dishes is plain pasta tossed in chilli oil with garlic...

Try the same thing with wholegrain rice, or quinoa. Or pad out the dish with more fibre and protein like black turtle beans. I reckon that would be a more filling and wholesome dish ;)
