myawethinTICself's Journal, 04 January 2015

"I know who I am, who I want to be and what kind of life I want to live.
I know what must be done to be that person and to live that life because I had already attained it. I would still have it if I had kept to my standards, but I didn't. That may have been what put me where I'm at right now but it doesn't mean I'm stuck here.
'There aint no easy way out.But I'll stand my ground, and I wont back down!'"

Those words were my first entry in my home journal dated August 25,2013.
My measurements were 44-46-44 (the shape of a wooden barrel with copper bands)
I weighed 192.2 (not really bad for a barrel,but *I* am not a barrel)
My heighth is 5'2" (the barrel is now seen as a pony keg- *I* am a person)
My BMI= 35.2 (considered obese )

September 28,2013 (1 month & 3 days after my Home Journal Entry)
I had cleaned all the junk food from my house (thats all I did)
I lost 5.2 pounds!

"The REWARD for a job well done is the RESULTS that are PRODUCED from the WORK that has been done." Isn't that how Jehovah God feels?! After all his work on creating life as he saw fit,did he not LOOK and SEE and DECLARE 'It was Good.'?!
A friend who is no longer on FatSecret encouraged me to join (I did & I encouraged 6 others to join with me. 4 did & that is all they did )

WHAT I HAVE LEARNED IN MY JOURNEY FROM 2013-2014
(THANKS TO MANY OF YOU)
*Switch up workouts to keep body from becoming accustomed to a routine & then hitting a plautoe. Stay in control by keeping it guessing. This is called Muscle Confusion.
*Add an extra workout for each social event attended. Set a limit of 2 max. if its not water.
*Only buy & wear clothes that meet the following requirements: Does it fit me? Does it flatter me? Does it make me feel good?
*Attend/Create monthly active weekend events(Road Race,Hike,Bike,Walking Zoo/Muesem,Etc.)
*Eat lean proteins & veggies at each meal/snack.Limit carbs.
*Take lunch/snack from dinner(make these for the next day, before serving dinner)
*Sleep at least 8 hours a night. This is our Repair/Recharge time.
*There is a difference between the foods we choose to eat that our body realizes. Choose lean meats & plant based proteins, complex carbs, healthy fats, vitamins & minerals.
*Sugar is comparative to a drug. It's a tough addiction to break. As our bodies replace foods that harm it with healing foods,it will continue to reject what harms it(what we shouldnt feed it). When we find food tastes "different" it is a good sign that we are freeing ourselves from the addiction. If we on occasion "crave" it,it is usually 90% mental (a mind-game).
*Going over our RDI OR not reaching it can keep us from losing weight but in different ways. Eating too much ADDS more weight to our bodies while eating too little causes our body to hoarde the fat we have.
*Our minds can see change quicker than our physical body.By continuing to DO what makes us feel good gives our image in the mirror(mirror-girl) time to accurately reflect it back to us,to see the transformation,to get rid of the old habits & create new life long ones.
*Skinny Clothes? Will I want to wear,in my 50's,the same clothes I wore in my 20's?
Will I look like an old woman desperately trying to hang on to my youth? Do I need/want more age appropriate clothes?

JANUARY 2015
WHAT WILL IT BRING?
WHO WILL *I* BE?
I CAN HARDLY WAIT TO SEE!

Wonderful journal - esp the 'what have I learned' - May I borrow this (copy / paste it into my journal) so that I can find it again when I need inspiration? I am reading so many great journals this week and the goal setting / recognitions are very motivating.

I just took the time to read this all the way through today! It's great! I just checked a book out of the library that was recommended to me and I must be ready because I am captive to every word, suggestion and instruction that is given and so I am not only starting over with the way I am eating but I can have hope that my whole life will change because of this... I will feel healthier and won't want to hide myself any longer..but most importantly... I will have a healthy body!!
