CELEBRATING HEALTHY!
I began my morning by sitting down to my computer, with protein shake in hand, to encourage whoever were first to pop up in "Featured" & in so doing I found I encouraged myself! With the power & ability of *my* WORDS motivating me,after only 2 "Featured" Buddies,I headed out the door for my daily walk(I'm using "daily" now in order to set the habit into my thoughts which in turn will make it happen). :)
I remembered that I was going to try something new with my walk....warm-up 15 min's rather than 5 (It's an experiment based on what I've been reading!). So I checked the time,noting it at 10:29. Estimated it was probably a 5 min walk to the end of my street & that 3 streets would give me my new warm-up & that if I look at the time at the end of each street I can check my accuracy of estimation. My street *was* 5 min's..street 2-5 min's(it feels good to be on target)..next street-5 min's! :) No need to focus on my warm-up,I let my thoughts focus on my surroundings. The feeling of emotion I felt from being correct in my thinking,spilled over into the remainder of my walk & as I looked around me,there was *beauty*EVERYWHERE! :)
I saw it in the trees color of ashy grayness & in its bark as it's unfurling.
In the stark blackness of the ones left barren of their foliage & in their skeletal arm-like branches stretching...reaching up & out.
It was there, in whats left of the faded red, dulled orange,vibrant yellow & lemon-lime green leaves as they seem to playfully chase each other in the wind.
It came with the rough & rugged texture of the solid stone hillside, that peeked through the bodies of naked trees, & their display of cream & rust colors mingling.
Atop the stone,it stood,outlining tall,stately homes using the bright blue sky as its canvas.And on the canvas was painted clouds,appearing so white & soft that it reminded me of drifts of untouched snow...& where the sun shone so brightly & revealed sky,it was as if it had melted the snow & left a pool of the bluest water in its place. :) In a simple form of exercise, beauty came from people raking their yards!
Beauty was also *heard*. The chirping of birds, that I looked for but couldn't see,made me think of family gatherings where everyone is so excited to be together we all talk at once. It sounded like *love* & it was so beautiful,I smiled while walking backwards still searching to actually see "the Family" :)
It was present in the wind as it raised its voice slightly in its encouragement to move the fallen leaves,where ever they might be.And in the crackling of the leaves as they hurriedly respond, tumbling over one another.
Beauty was *smelled* :)In the freshness of the air as it's inhaled deeply or in the burning of raked & piled leaves as it passes leisurely by,lingering momentarily.
And Beauty was *felt*....I felt it as the sun gently touched my face,warming my bare skin.I felt it as the wind whirled around,encircling my body as I walked as if trying to shield & protect me with its cool caresses from the suns heat.
But as I rounded my last corner & my house came into view something happened that I don't recall ever happening in my 51 years of life.ALL the *emotions* of Beauty *combined*. It was as if they were a great crowd standing in front of me, just down the street,in front of my house! They were jumping up & down excited to see me.Smiling & cheering for me to hurry home,they are waiting.WHAT HAPPINESS!!!
I increased my pace, walking faster to reach them! When I did,they were patting me on the back,happy to be with me,beckoning me to come in & sit down.It seemed like *their* home,not *mine*......"Come in! Enjoy our company!"........ I did/I *am* :)

with a small plate of celery & peanut butter & a tall cold bottle of lemon water!
