I have been striving to get my fiber up 35g / day for about 4 weeks now. I started that goal because it is supposed to help regulate blood sugar. It has helped with the blood sugar, but I think my weight loss has increased as well. The more I read, the more I believe you can disregard all other diet advice. Eat 35g of fiber (naturally - i.e. no metamusil) and everything else will take care of itself. I haven't been able to do it without the metamusil. However, if I did I don't think I would be hungry it takes a lot of plant to get to 35g.

I think that's the whole key to diet loss. A lot of plants. Make a lot of salads! I take a many ssalads a day and always add beets and sweet potato (steamed until they are very soft - and they keep for a few days)and an egg for protein, shallots, garlic, tomato, olive oil and balsamic. It's a whole meal, tastes great, is healthy, low enough in calories, not to expensive. It's a win/win. I find the more tricks in your bag, the easier the diet journey is.

Yay for fiber. I'm going to have to track it and see how I'm doing. I track the carbs and cals. I just bought a bottle of Glucomannan Fiber to add fiber. I use it for thickening. It doesn't take much. 1/2 tsp has 5 cals and 2g carbs and 2g fiber. I make a pancake with 2 tsp. So I may have to eat more pancakes. I'll have to find more recipes using it.
