Hello TOPS peeps on Fat Secret!!!! i am glad to find TOPS support here. My doctor started me on Belviq july 20th 2014. I am happy to say I was best loser last week and for the month of August. I am down 17 pounds. i have been tracking my food intake and 'exercise' changing resting to sitting, or slow swimming 1 hour 2x per week. before starting Belviq i had eaten my way to the heaviest in my life. 311. i am 6'1 and female. lots of people say well your tall you can carry a lot. well my knees don't feel that way any longer. the last year has been full of difficult life events, my dad passed last September, I was lucky enough to make it home MA before he passed and i was at his side when the last breath was taken. then i returned to AZ. expecting my sister to continue to get my mom w/Alzeimers the help she needed. There was a disturbing call about my mom being in the same depends all weekend. Well, she is not the doer, and she has a full time job and severe grief for the loss of my dad.. I traveled back in Nov to stay for 1 month to get my mom placed in long term care. My siblings and i worked together, mom got a nurses aid to come and help during the days, while my sisters and i did touring of facilities. and the necessary paperwork to get my mom into a facility. she went into the nursing home the Monday after thanksgiving. it was sad to have to move her there and leave her, each time we would visit and leave my heart broke. but as time has gone on she has become comfortable with her place, that is her bed, she still doesn't know no one(she is expecting her father to come) is coming to pick her up. they do lots of activities. she is clean, well fed and happy. she is excited when ever visitors say hi to her. My dad had been her primary care giver, and i know after doing it for two weeks how worn out he had become. He was having trouble keeping his self healthy enough to care for her. my father in law had a fall and was delivered to us, by the bully brother, in January. he could not put his weight on his legs, so he was more disabled than 2 years ago when he came and recoved after 6 months of c-diff. this time was different. he wasn't improving, only declining. he had another fall, well he slipped through my husbands grasp in the bathroom. they called EMS and they took him to the ER. this was on a TOPS night.long story short, he had many urinary infections that caused very vivid hallucinations. Bully brother visited him 2x in four months. he was moved to the Alz wing of the facility, because he was no longer interested in getting out of bed or moving at all. his desire for food diminished, when ever he awoke he only water water, but could only have ice chips. he passed the weekend after my birthday this year on Good Friday. i had been gaining weight since my return in December. i knew it would have to be lost , but it was had to find motivation. Belviq has been a life saver for me. TOPS has always been there to hold my hand or to have our Monday and Wednesday swim dates at our town pool. i really needed to get this down on 'paper' i am not good at writing in my journal. but typing i can handle. excuse my misspelling and non caps.
