Haven't had pancakes or French toast in a year. Saw this keto friendly bread at 35 cal/slice and bought it. Not bad at all. Had been using bagel thins for sandwiches at 110 cals and switched to this. I've been making big spinach omelets with mushroom, onion and egg substitute (basically colored egg whites) all through this current journey. At 30 cal per 1/4 cup I use a cup and end up with a very big meal. 3/4 cup of egg substitute and two slices of bread come in at only 160 cals. Add fruit, honey, pam, parmesan and thyme to get what you see for a grand total of 290. I'm adding this to my selection of breakfast choices from now on. Make it, log it, eat it, live it.

I looked at egg whites recently and was surprised at the amount of protein.

SK, I'd cook for you guys anytime. Marpingo, yes pretty bland. At first I was only using them as binder to hold massive flavorful frittatas together. The little scrabble here it s seasons with some real parmesan, fresh thyme and salt.
Many folks here advocate for real food in moderation. My WOE has been a severely restrictive calorie intake for my size. Because of that, I have been sacrificing some ingredient quality in favor of quantity.

I gotcha gastropod. But I'm looking at this lovely breakfast and it's less than 300 calories! This morning, I ate a 1/2cup of steel cut oats with fruits, honey and almonds for 500 calories! So u may b onto something here. I notice alot of folks like the egg whites.. I should try them... enjoy!

Marpingo, whole grains and nuts are awesomely healthy but really calorie dense. I've been shooting for 1200 calories a day and averaged 1/2 a pound a day lost for over 300 days. That's my priority until I reach goal. When I get there I plan to reintroduce more "real" foods and gradually move my daily intake toward 2000 calories. Quite a few folks here are successfully maintaining in that way. As I approach goal, I'm paying closer attention to what the long time blu liners are eating.
