I need to kick up this diet a notch.

I'm not feeling that I'm getting good value for my efforts.

As much as I hate to, I'm going to start recording my food. But I absolutely hate all the measuring, weighing, recording. Yuck! As if I don't have enough things to sit down for and do (just venting here).

So I'll give it a try.

try it first without measuring maybe. i've been estimating my food and i plan to add measuring and weighing now that the recording seems like a habit. one thing at a time.

Good advice. Thank you. I think I'll think about the recording... lol I'm going to try some other type of dieting my gf just got on and told me about. She seems to be having a lot of success. And thanks for that word 'conditionning', that really opened up a thought process on the way I eat and the diet my gf is doing.

hang in there!!! it gets better, i am at the point i feel guilty if i don't log in my food. And if I don't do it just one day, I end up quitting. That is where I went wrong the last time. I am now dedicated to logging in my food intake. I know that is a big part of all of this. Even when I have to log in the not so good for me healthy stuff, and be forced to look at what I have eaten. You can do it!

Maunikmtl - I'm going to differ from Gnewfry here. I really suggest measuring. In fact, I use a digital food scale for almost everything. Just put my plate or bowl on, zero it out and measure out the amount I'm having. I have a really good eye for quantity and I find I'm often off in estimates. Depending on what you're eating (if the calorie or carb count is high) you could be off by a substantial percentage.

Recording food helped me realize just how much more I was eating than I needed too. Sometimes when I crave something. Then I realize I have to record that too....that crave becomes less daunting. Haha
