had a baby shower over the weekend and did not feel like i was eating very well... i just added my foods for the last two days and while i did eat over what i aim for i didnt go too crazy so that is good... even having a small nacho last night for dinner! it is overwhelming to track at events where there are complicated recipes and food i did not prepare as i am a freaking perfectionist and i want all my foods accurately tracked. welp, i did the best i could and i was very conscious to choose more veggies to nibble on instead of breads or chips so that was good. i also baked cupcakes for the shower which i could not fully resist taste testing but at the event i only had a half of one so i was proud of myself for not going overboard. i think i am going a little too hard on the food and being SO strict... i know it's what will work but it is mentally draining as well...today is a new week and i am going to start it off right! :)

It is hard to track foods that don't exactly fall easily in a group or are homemade but like you said you do your best. Counting calories is not an exact science so I wouldn't worry about being off on your numbers, as long as you get in the ballpark. And it is ok to have a cheat day on your diet. I usually give myself Friday or Saturday to endulge but not too much...lol.
