Bandrai's Journal, 26 May 2021

I have been doing some background reading on vlc diets .. not that I feel I proscribe to dieting per se.. but more that when I am focused, I really do try to stick to whole food, and natural occuring produce options rather than pre-made or processed. Lets face it nature's pure bounty is blissfully tasty once we retrain our palettes away from the sugar laces GSM and soy and high salt preservative type rubbish that the "diet" and food "industry" would make us addicted to.

In the perfect world... no food "industry" would exist ... there would be only farmers, fishermen, and shops that sold their untainted produce, with zero interference from manufacturers or processors..

In line with the above, no-one is perfect.. and there are occassions when avoiding the convenient option didn't seen like a realistic choice! Having said that I try better now to avoid the situation where there's nothing quick to hand in the cupboard to prevent those moments when I grab something ready at the store.

Having for the past 6 weeks, avoided all the messed up options... and most sugary stuff including fruits etc. yesterday I had a handful of ripe blueberries .. the sensation of the fructose was really strong - absolutely incredibly sweet taste.
And usually I wouldn't rate blueberries as a particularly sweet fruit !! I guess when we wean ourselves off all the processed sugars etc .. we get to re-set our taste buds and really taste natures natural sweets.

I'm hesitant to try chocolate again - might be too much of an overload!!!

Peace and good luck to you all on your journey to better nutrition, medicinal care and health :)

Hey Bandrai, I saw you comment on my post and curious about your journey :) I indulge in my chocolate fix. If you like dark chocolate, I do a tbsp of Droste cocoa powder, add a dash of salt and chili powder and olive oil or coconut oil and mix it. Just a tsp of oil enough to bind the powder into a smooth silky paste. I eat that bad boy with a spoon. It’s the ultimate fix without sugar and utterly decadent. I imagine myself in Incan temples while I lick that spoon clean.
