debbra's Journal, 10 February 2009

Yesterday was not bad, a step up from the bad behavior of late. Not perfect, but better. And at least I did my treadmill. Today I'm going to try to be better!

Sorry that I've been MIA lately and not responding to journals. I've just discovered a whole world of things on the internet that has been taking my time and attention. I've found educational game sites and have been teaching myself stuff. I now know where all the states are and where all the countries are in Europe, the Middle East, and I am working on Asia. Geography was a big hole left out of my education. I have a memory of taking one, and only one, test on the Geography of the United States. I was in elementary school at the time and didn't do so well on it, and I don't think I was ever asked to learn that information again. And I HATED not knowing. But it's a tough thing to just sit down and learn if you don't just DO it. So I'm so excited that one can get an education on the internet. I went looking for it for my son, and I'm just so happy about it for myself as well! Well, that's where I've been. (For anyone interested, this is the site I've been using. Love it! http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/states_experiment_background_noClip10s.html)

It's amazing how the day gets filled up so fast. Exercise, house cleaning, taking care of the family, and just a little bit of time left for the internet. I haven't even had time to paint. That's my next project. And as always, constantly thinking about my weight. I've been maintaining, pretty much, and I want to continue down.

I hope all my FS buddies are doing great! And I'll try to get to some journaling with you all later today. Hope all is well!

Update: 12:00 p.m. Treadmill 90 minutes. Today I did 3.7 mph at level 7 with about 15 minutes of that at 3.8, level 8. I even managed to get up to 4.0 at level 10 for a couple minutes. Doing this every day is making me a lot stronger!

Glad you're doing better than you were! Nice to read an update from you for sure. Good for you learning! It's always great to keep that going, so you either refresh your memory or just learn things you never knew before. I love it. : )

Way to go for keeping up the exercise. And congrats on your newfound thirst for knowledge. You're never too old to learn something new (and I could certainly brush up on my geography, too, especially with the way the world has changed in the 27 years since I've been in school!).

That is great you are able to learn something new. On your workouts, I do hope you know how hard that is keeping up on that incline. I really think it seems just as hard as running at a higher mph but no incline. You are doing really good and I am sure are getting strong. Now, when are you going to get rid of Marilyn and post a picture of the real you?! I like to see who my buddies are! Great job today.

Oh, but I LOVE her! Okay. I'll get a new pic, but I'll have to work on it.
