myawethinTICself's Journal, 15 February 2014

What a week! I usually don't wish my time to pass by quickly,as it seems to fly by now,but this week, this week draaaagged on. Probably because I didn't feel well. Don't know what I had,but am glad it's gone.

My hubby & I ate at El Tequila last night & I had our usual Chimi Con Steak that just melts in my mouth & that we usually share, as it comes with 2 on the plate besides the salad & chips & salsa. But he decided he wanted a chicken burrito,so I split my dinner, taking half of it home.

This morning I wasnt able to find anything from El Tequila on the food search or even its equivilent so I settled on accepting a burrito from Chuys even knowing it didn't come close to the right amounts of fats, carbs or pro's. Then I decided to send an e-mail to El Tequila to try & get the correct information from them. Awaiting anxiously!

Tonight for dinner I enjoyed my leftovers before going to a Going-Away party for some friends & took a cake that was certain not to tempt me...German Chocolate...wishing that I could only motivate a few of my friends to eat better & appreciate the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle (of course, the cake was not helping me to do this, just keeping any "comments" to a minimum).
I *did* get into a conversation with a couple of friends who had noticed my weight loss & then I mentioned my hubbys continual down sizing for the last 4 weeks & was delightfully surprised when my friends hubby said "WHAT?!" as he leaned toward my husband "We need to get together & talk!" :D He then proceeded to tell his wife how he was going to forego dessert tonight since they have been eating more than their share of things lately. She, said with the same gusto her hubby had spoken in earlier,"Don't try to influence me!" ....of course it was quite hilarious being not at all what anyone of us was expecting & later she did mention she wants to lose weight but it's so hard to get started. I gave her a few tips that work for me & she said she would try it. :D I have hopes for her, as she did finally join fs last month, along with my hubby! :D

Anyway....tomorrow is weigh in & I dont have expectations one way or the other as to the scale. I did what my body felt it could do activity wise, some days earlier in the week I may have did more than I should have in regards to how I was feeling. But I knew sickness was coming on & tried to push myself before it did & I would be doing nothing. Hoping it balanced out. If not,I feel so much better & I laid off a couple of days to make sure I didnt have a relapse. So either way....I'M READY FOR GETTING BACK IN MOTION :D

Good on you - restaurant meals are far too large for a single serving. When I finally started being more mindful of the 'quantity' than worrying about the calories, fat, etc., I determined most appetizers are even larger than *I* should be eating much less following it up with an entrée. It can be a sticky process trying to enjoy the evening and meal without destroying the body and WOE but can be done. Love chocolate and coconut ... GCC is one of my favs. Have a wonderful day and thank you for the kind, supportive words you leave on my journal. I appreciate you and am blessed we are friends.

MUSICIAN... you heard correct,Chimi Con Steak! Its small strips of lean steak rolled into a flour tortilla that has been lightly,IF there is such a thing,deep-fried until it has a bit of color to it.Then they a little more than drizzle queso blancho over it & serve with their idea of salad (iceberg lettuce, diced tomato, guaccomole, cilantro & a dollop of sour cream)freshly baked & warm tortilla chips & red salsa.Does that help?! :D

BELLA....you almost bring me to tears just in commenting on my post!!! :D Thank *you* for your kind words to *me*. I sometimes worry that my words are taken not in the sense they were given & it's truly nice to know you have accepted them in the spirit they were meant....As for your love of chocolate & coconut try this "skinny muffin" recipe,I had it for the first time today & think it's pretty good,if it really helps me to lose weight! :D SKINNY MUFFIN RECIPE:1/4 c ground flax;1 tsp baking powder;2 tsps cinnamon;1 tsp coconut oil (I use olive oil as I dont care for coconut);1 egg & sweetner(if you need it)Mix all together in a short coffee mug. Microwave 50 sec's.....A bit dry for my liking but think something to drink with it would help. Let me know what you think IF you try it. :D Friends

queso blancho... I'm in Canada. I don't speak the language of the US... Mexican. :D What I managed to decipher sounds decadent.
