Ruhu's Journal, 30 December 2013

I' m back, suffering from a sugar & socializing hangover, but determined to work through it & learn from it. I missed you all so much, but have had house guests from Christmas Eve until yesterday, and while I did thoroughly enjoy myself , and especially time with SIL Thurs-Yesterday, I'm happy to be back into my routine.. At least today! I'm not sure what New Years will bring as DH has 4 deals he's trying to close by year end. And next weekend, but just Sat night, his other sister comes to stay with us. So, on we go!

And off I go to spin class, but first will pray for serenity. I'm back to working my course, gluten, lactose & sugar free, one day at a time. And I couldn't be more grateful to have you all here to start again with! Xoxox. (P.S. Hope to catch up on journals tonight!)

One day at a time, is a good place to start - enjoy your spin class... My aqua fit doesn't start until after the new year... Looking forward to it.

Welcome back - as I've heard it goes in rehab 'it works if you work it, keep coming back' - that's the important part - remembering to come back here after a few minutes of feeling 'human'. I like the way you phrased that 'socializing hangover' - it can be that way can't it? All the small talk and fixed grins at a time when you just want to curl up under a blanket - takes a toll. Recover and nurture yourself whenever you get the chance.

Getting back into a routine helps. So nice to be around family but ever so nice when they go home and it feels more peaceful. :)

I'd rather have an alcohol hangover than a food hangover. At least the first only lasts a day. The other may hang on for weeks! Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas Hang on a little while longer as things will get back to normal before you know it!
